👨‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the sausages

Place the cocktail sausages into a clean glass jar or container.

2️⃣ Make the brine

In a small saucepan combine:

  • vinegar

  • water

  • sugar

  • salt

Bring to a light boil, stirring until the sugar and salt dissolve.

3️⃣ Add the spices

Place garlic, peppercorns, mustard seeds, red pepper flakes, dill, and jalapeño into the jar with the sausages.

4️⃣ Pour the brine

Carefully pour the hot brine over the sausages until fully covered.

5️⃣ Cool and refrigerate

Let the jar cool to room temperature, then seal and refrigerate for at least 24 hours (48 hours is even better for stronger flavor).

6️⃣ Serve

Enjoy them:

  • straight from the jar

  • on toothpicks as a party snack

  • with crackers and cheese

  • on a charcuterie board


🔥 Tips

  • They stay good in the fridge for 1–2 weeks.

  • Add extra chili flakes or hot peppers if you like it spicy.

  • A few slices of onion can add extra flavor to the brine.
